Barnet Marine Off Leash Dog Park
8181 Barnet Road Burnaby, BC V5A 4V2 CA

For those of you who travel along Barnet Highway, this is a great place to bring the dog. Barnent Marine Park also has a nice picnic and swimming area for non-canines as well. This is one of my favorite parks. It is a great place to get away from the crowds. Walk along the path (Drummond's Walk) all the way to the end and it leads to a secluded secret beach. If you get trapped by the rising tide you can climb the embankment up to the rail road so there is no need to panic. Fishing is rather poor but if you want to do some shore crabbing then you will catch your limit easily. The waters are heavily infested with legal sized Dungeness crabs. If you are lazy and don’t feel like going all the way, you can get to the main grassy off leash area right away. There are mainly large dogs playing here with a few small dogs showing up. The park is clean and the dogs are well behaved. Even yappy city dogs need a break and the secluded area will allow your wound up city dog to go offleash and relax. There is a train making some noise once in a while but he dogs seem to adapt pretty fast and generally ignore it. Large ball chasing and swimming dogs really enjoy this park.

The portion of Drummond's Walk area has some restrictions.

October 1-April 30: no time restrictions, dawn to dusk.

May 1-September 30: Weekday mornings dawn to 10:00am. Weekday evenings 6:00pm to dusk. Weekend mornings dawn to 10:00am. Statutory holidays are equivalent to weekend schedule.
